The Italian Design Day is a yearly initiative organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and its Diplomatic network together with the Italian Trade Agency. It aims at promoting the excellence of Italian design, highlighting its value as one of the key components of the “Made in Italy” and as a driving force of the Italian economic system.

The 6th edition of the Italian Design Day in Malaysia, which is organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency, will be in a new format conceived by Ambassador Massimo Rustico: in essence, the Italian design through some of the most prominent Italian brands as testimonials.

An event showcased to a selected audience of professionals and VIPs at the Maristar Lounge (at the Starhill) on March 23rd, 2022, to be offered to a wide audience on YouTube and Facebook from the next day.

The event which will be introduced by Ambassador Massimo Rustico, will see the participation, as “Ambassador of Italian Design in Malaysia”, of the famous Italian Architect Franco Caimi, founder and CEO of Caimi Brevetti SpA.

Special testimonials will be the Design & Style centres of:

MANGUSTA, a brand of the luxury Italian mega yachts producer Overmarine;

DUCATI, the icon of motorcycles and moto GP;

TECHNOGYM, the world leader of fitness equipment and lifestyle;

ARMARIOR, the perfect synthesis of Italy & Malaysia offering luxury furnishing and home makeover solutions, fitting and contract;

PERMASTEELISA, the global player of high-tech glass facades for skyscrapers, including the future iconic “Megatall” Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur.

The event will combine presentations of the upcoming edition of the Salone del Mobile Milano 2022, the ADI Museum of Milan, and several video clips on Italian Fashion and Jewellery clusters, and will see Ms. Kavita Sidhu, a renowned Malaysian actress and influencer, as the Master of Ceremony.
