The validity of Italian residence permits expiring between 31st January 2020 to 31st December 2020 is extended to 31 July 2021.
Foreigners who are Italian resident permit holders returning to Italy without any stopovers will be able to enter without a re-entry visa or supporting letter from the consular section of this Embassy, unless the re-entry visa and supporting letter is required to facilitate the exit from this country.
For foreigners who are Italian resident permit holders returning to Italy with a stopover in EU border countries, this Embassy will issue a re-entry visa and if the stopover is in a non- European country, this Embassy will also issue a consular supporting letter to facilitate their exit from the country.
