THE 1ST EDITION OF AN “ITALIAN WEEK IN ASEAN” ARRIVES IN KUALA LUMPUR!

This year (2017) the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) celebrates the 50th anniversary since its foundation. It is a regional integration process representing today a driving force of economic growth and development for its more than 600 million individuals.
In order to highlight the strategic importance of the ASEAN region and its members states for Italy, the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs has launched the first edition of “an Italian Week in ASEAN” .
It is a broad-reaching promotional activity dedicated to a fast-growing area and aimed at integrating promotional activities, in conjunction with the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (20-26 November 2017).
7 Embassies – in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Singapore, Yangoon – 2 Italian Cultural Institutes – in Jakarta and Singapore – 5 Offices of the ICE-Agency, in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore have organized 60 events in different areas from culture to trade: seminars, concerts, conferences, embracing the various aspects of what we define as “Vivere all’Italiana” (Italian Way of Life).
In this framework, the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur , in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency Office in Kuala Lumpur and the Italy-Malaysian Business Association, in partnership with Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus and the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) is proud to announce the following events:
1) On November the 28th from 09.00 to 12.00, Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus (LT12) will be hosting a seminar which will address the theme of the Italian week in ASEAN, through a Student Challenge. Undergraduate and post graduate students , who were engaged in the last months in a “ business case competition”, will be presenting the results of their studies on: a) integrated marketing communication plan to promote “made in Italy” products/brands in Malaysia; b) digital marketing and social media strategies to support the penetration of Italian brands/products in Asean region.
2) On December, the 3rd at 19.30 in MaTiC Tunku Abdul Rahman Hall, the Italian dance company GDO/E.sperimenti will entertain the guests with a modern dance performance entitled “Attacchi di Pane-Bread Attacks”, “a show that brings on stage ironically an ancient but very current theme: man in society…”Bread, metaphorical main character of the show, represents the answer to the aspirations and daily fears of the society and is in the end the symbol of happiness to share with the public.
The event will be an occasion to “taste the Italian excellence” in all its diversity. Guests will receive some samples of typical Italian bread and a booklet featuring 20 varieties of bread selected by the 20 Italian Regions.
