Ambassador Langella’s Visit to Kuching: Great Potential for Strengthening Relations with Sarawak

The Ambassador of Italy to Malaysia, Raffaele Langella, visited Kuching, where he held a productive meeting with the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Dr. Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg.

The bilateral meeting allowed the Ambassador and the Premier of Sarawak to assess the strengthening of relations between Italy and East Malaysia, particularly in the economic domain. “Within the context of the increasingly solid relations between our country and Malaysia, we are paying close attention to strengthening ties with the State of Sarawak— starting with the energy and aerospace sectors” Ambassador Langella stated on the sidelines of the meeting. Ambassador also highlighted the great potential for growth of collaborations in the tourism sector.

Ambassador Langella, speaking with great admiration of Borneo’s rich cultural heritage, has also expressed strong interest in strengthening artistic and academic dialogue with Sarawakian people and institutions.
