We hereby inform our fellow citizens that, in accordance with EU Regulation 1157/2019, Italian paper identity cards (CIC) will cease to be valid on 3 August 2026, as they no longer meet the security requirements for identity and travel documents set out in European Union regulations.
Italian citizens, regularly resident in this consular district, in possession of a CIC are therefore invited to contact the Consular Office by email to organize an appropriate replacement with the Electronic Identity Card (CIE).
