The new ATRIO portal (Archive of International Online Treaties), a digital archive of the more than 6,000 bilateral and multilateral international agreements signed by Italy, is now available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).
This new portal, managed by the Legal Affairs, Diplomatic Litigation and Treaties Office of the Ministry, allows you to consult statistical data on the number and type of agreements and facilitates research by grouping them by geographical areas, allowing you to visualize the treaties concluded by Italy with each country.
Through the “news” section it will be possible to know the most recent agreements signed, and to have therefore an updated and complete regulatory framework.
Initially, the agreements were kept in MAECI’s Treaty archive. Through their compilation and digitization, ATRIO has provided a simple and intuitive use of all the treaties that bind Italy on an international level. This project aims to promote Italy’s juridical diplomacy and, thanks to the creation of its version in English, the consultation of the database will also be open to international users.
