KUALA LUMPUR – 23 JUNE 2026. Raffaele Langella, Ambassador of Italy to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Malaysia\u2019s Minister of Defence, YB Dato\u2019 Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, at Wisma Pertahanan.<\/p>\n
The bilateral meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the current state and future direction of Italy-Malaysia defence relations in various fields including defence procurement and military cooperation.<\/p>\n
“The courtesy call underscored the shared commitment of Italy and Malaysia to strengthening bilateral defence ties and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest” – as Amb. Langella stated on the sidelines of the meeting.<\/p>\n
During the fruitful discussion, Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin underlined his very positive and solid relation with the Italian Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto, whom he recently met during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.<\/p>\n
As recalled by Ambassador Langella – “Italy is ready to work with Malaysia to intensify even more the level of our excellent cooperation, contributing to the Malaysian national defence capabilities, also in line with the goals of the National Defence Industrial Policy<\/em> (NDIP).
