This may include the Ministry of Education, <em>Uffici Scolastici Provinciali<\/em>, universities, or other competent authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The recognition of a foreign qualification as equivalent to an Italian qualification is generally referred to as <em><strong>equipollenza<\/strong><\/em> (equivalence).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dv-section dv-section-3\">\n<h2>Alternative: CIMEA Statements<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the purpose of recognition, it may also be possible to request a <strong>Statement of Comparability<\/strong> and\/or a <strong>Statement of Verification<\/strong> from <strong>CIMEA \u2013 Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For further information, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimea.it\/EN\/pagina-attestati-di-comparabilita-e-verifica-dei-titoli\">the CIMEA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CIMEA Statements are accepted by universities and by numerous Italian institutions for specific recognition procedures, including certain public competitions and pension-related procedures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimea.it\/EN\/pagina-riconoscimento-accademico\">CIMEA \u2013 Statements accepted by Universities<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimea.it\/EN\/pagina-riconoscimento-non-accademico\">CIMEA \u2013 Non-academic recognition procedures<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"dv-important\"><strong>Please verify with the Italian institution responsible for your specific procedure whether a Declaration of Value, a CIMEA Statement, or another form of recognition is required.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dv-section dv-section-4\">\n<h2>Required Documents<\/h2>\n<p>Applications for a Declaration of Value must be submitted <strong>in hardcopy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Please prepare the following documents:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Original certificate and transcript.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Certified True Copy of the original certificate and transcript<\/strong>, certified by the <strong>Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)<\/strong> and subsequently legalized by the <strong>Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra)<\/strong>.\n<div class=\"dv-important\">\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT \u2013 CERTIFIED TRUE COPY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The certificate and transcript must be submitted as <strong>CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES<\/strong> of the originals, certified by the <strong>MOHE<\/strong> and subsequently legalized by <strong>Wisma Putra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The certification stamp must explicitly bear the words \u201cCERTIFIED TRUE COPY\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An ordinary photocopy, or a copy bearing a certification stamp that does not contain the words <strong>\u201cCERTIFIED TRUE COPY\u201d<\/strong>, will not be accepted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>For pre-University qualifications:<\/strong> the competent Malaysian authority is the <strong>Ministry of Education (MOE)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Italian translation<\/strong> of the above certificate and transcript, including the <strong>front and back<\/strong> of each document and the <strong>grading system<\/strong>. The translation must be <strong>legalized by Wisma Putra<\/strong>. The translation can only be obtained through the following agencies recognized by Wisma Putra:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Malaysian Institute of Translation &amp; Books (ITBM)<\/strong> (<em>Institut Terjemahan &amp; Buku Malaysia<\/em>);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Malaysian Translators Association (MTA)<\/strong> (<em>Persatuan Penterjemah Malaysia<\/em>) \/ <strong>Institute of Language and Literature (DBP)<\/strong> (<em>Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka<\/em>);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Malaysian Court Translator.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-enrolment summary<\/strong> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universitaly.it\/\">Universitaly website<\/a>, required only for <strong>non-EU citizens applying for a Declaration of Value for study purposes<\/strong>. For applications for work purposes, an <strong>employment letter<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Completion of Study Letter<\/strong> issued by the Malaysian university. The letter must include:\n<ul>\n<li>student&#8217;s full name;<\/li>\n<li>passport number and\/or identity card number;<\/li>\n<li>student ID number;<\/li>\n<li>years of study and credits obtained\/completed;<\/li>\n<li>name, designation and signature of the authorized university officer issuing the letter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Passport copy<\/strong> \u2013 a copy of the passport page containing the applicant&#8217;s <strong>photograph and signature<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ambkualalumpur.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Form-Application-for-a-Declaration-of-Value.pdf\"><strong>Declaration of Value (DV) request form<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dv-section dv-section-5\">\n<h2>Processing Time<\/h2>\n<p>The processing of a Declaration of Value may take <strong>up to 30 days<\/strong> from the submission of the complete set of required documents.<\/p>\n<p>Processing time may depend on the completeness and verification of the documentation submitted.<\/p>\n<div class=\"dv-note\">\n<p>For information regarding the submission and collection of Declaration of Value documents, please contact the <strong>Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur at <\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ambkualalumpur.consolare@esteri.it\">ambkualalumpur.consolare@esteri.it<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Who Can Request a Declaration of Value?
