To determine your relevant consulate, visit our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/serviziconsolari.esteri.it\/ScoFE\/services\/service-info.sco?serviceId=50\">Consular Network<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to applying for a passport, <strong>please ensure that your birth certificate has been formally registered with the Italian authorities (Comune \/ Municipality in Italy).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The above mentioned is applicable to all Italian citizens regardless if you were in possession of a previous passport, and to those:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>were born abroad (not in Italy);<\/li>\n<li>acquired Italian citizenship abroad or in Italy (but not through this Consular Chancellery);<\/li>\n<li>acquired Italian citizenship through marriage abroad or in Italy (but not through this Consular Chancellery).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The issue of electronic passport with fingerprints and digitalized signature requires the physical presence of the citizen at the Embassy: <strong>citizens are therefore invited to send a request and attach a copy of the passport to the email address: ambkualalumpur.consolare@esteri.it <\/strong><br \/>\nUpon the completion of verification, an appointment will be scheduled for the issue of passport.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ambkualalumpur.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/ALL-01-Modulo-di-domanda-di-passaporto.pdf\">Passport application for adults<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ambkualalumpur.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/ALL-02-Modulo-di-domanda-di-passaporto-a-favore-di-minorenne.pdf\">Passport application for children under 18 years of age<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ambkualalumpur.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/atto-di-assenso-ITALIANO-e-INGLESE.pdf\">Consent form to be completed by the other parent of children under 18<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Italian citizens residing within the jurisdiction of this Consular Chancellery, duly registered with the AIRE, can apply for a passport.
