Week of the Italian Language in the World | Programme of events and initiatives promoted by the Embassy of Italy

Settimana della lingua italiana nel mondo 2025

The Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur joins in the celebration of the 25th edition of Week of Italian Language in the World and, in this context, it promotes a programme of public events and cultural initiatives. Following the theme “Italofonia: lingua oltre i confini” (Italophony: language beyond borders), the aim of this institutional event is to promote the knowledge and study of the Italian language in Malaysia.

“The study of our language represents an important gateway to our culture and values. The growing interest in the Italian language in Malaysia makes us confident about the future prospects for intercultural dialogue between our peoples” said Ambassador Raffaele Langella, who also underlined that “we are particularly proud of the results of our educational projects in Malaysia, starting with our collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur City Opera and the activities of the Italian Language and Linguistics Bachelor at the University Malaya. We will continue on this path of cultural diplomacy and we will do even more to meet the growing demand from those in Malaysia who want to learn Italian”.
