Quadriennale d’Arte 2020 FUORI

Quadriennale d’Arte 2020 FUORI

Curated by Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol

Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome

We have waited for so long. Now, for italian contemporary art, is time to come OUT. The exhibition Quadriennale d’arte 2020 FUORI, curated by Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol, presents 43 artists, with monographic displays and new works, giving back an original image of Italian art at an international level.

FUORI is a liberation from any constraint or category that harnessed art and individuals. The Quadriennale d’arte 2020 wants to be OUT of mind, OUT of fashion, OUT of time, OUT of scale, OUT of the game, OUT of place, through the works and research of the artists presented.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy and its network collaborate with the Quadriennale in the international promotion of Italian contemporary art.

From 30 October 2020 to 17 January 2021, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will host the next edition of the Quadrenniale d’Arte, an event that has been dedicated to contemporary art since 1927. The title chosen for this year's edition - FUORI - insists on the need to go beyond the norms of a conventional narrative and at the same time aims at drawing the attention of the international public towards the protagonists of the Italian art scene. This intention is also strongly shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which has therefore decided to enthusiastically start a new collaboration with the Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma.

Thanks to the use of modern technology and new languages, the project is based on a package of digital contents conceived for an international public, easily assembled and aimed at promoting the exhibition, both while it is open - through remote use - and also afterwards. The contents are intended to highlight the ecosystem of operators in the cultural sector and the links between the visual arts on display at the Quadriennale and the other cultural events on contemporary art of the 20th century taking place in Rome, further enhancing the creative dimension of the city.

Among the proposed contents, a virtual tour of the Quadriennale d'Arte 2020, based on a three-dimensional reproduction of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, its environments and its works, accessible via PC or smartphone; a series of videos and commercials to introduce Italian art and talents and the features of the Quadriennale d’Arte 2020; a story, in time-lapse, of the exhibition’s installation; a video dedicated to the youngest creative talents in the country, outlining the mapping on the Italian art and curatorial scene "under 35" completed by the Fondazione, since artists can be extraordinary ambassadors of the Italian image abroad.
