The Politecnico di Torino was founded in 1859 as Scuola di Applicazione per gli Ingegneri (Technical School for Engineers), and it became Regio Politecnico di Torino in 1906. After filling in the online application APPLY@POLITO (see next paragraph), the applicant will be able to visualize useful materials to train for the test (training samples, tutorials and so on).

Degree programs in Architecture have a selective entry access defined by national standards.

The selective admission test will focus on general knowledge, with particular relevance to the historical, social and institutional fields and capacity to work on written texts of various kinds (artistic, literary, historical, sociological, philosophical, etc.) and attitude to abstract-logical reasoning both in mathematics and language fields.

In order to enrol in Architecture programs in the past year, students must both be included in the number of available places set every year by Politecnico for European and non-European students residing outside of Italy, and achieve a minimum score during the admission test.

To be admitted to Bachelor and Master of Science programs, it is necessary to have a knowledge of the

language in which the course is taught of B1 level. The applicant must attach the required certificate in the

online application form.

APPLY@POLITO is the online application service of the Politecnico di Torino available on Through this service it is possible to apply for different programs (Bachelor,

Master of Science, 1st and 2nd level Specializing Masters, PhD).

For the 2014/2015 academic year it is necessary to register and submit the online application within 20th

March 2014 (deadline for Bachelor and Master of Science programs).

After going through the evaluation of the International Admissions Office, the academic career and the

quality of each candidate are assessed by a Committee of Professors which will determine whether the

applicant meets the entry requirements for a specific program.

The eligible students or admitted to the test for a Master of Science program, will find the results of the

selections procedure in their personal page of the online application form.

The evaluation of an application through the online service does not exclude the pre-enrolment procedure in

compliance with the rules decided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Non-UE citizens residing abroad : the enrolment to Politecnico will be possible only after

completing the compulsory pre-enrolment procedure through the Italian Embassy/Consulate. Since many

foreign students are interested in studying at Politecnico, also submitting the online application is mandatory:

this way Politecnico will be able to evaluate applications in large advance and it will be easier for the offices

to support and guide prospective students during the different steps (welcome, enrolment, etc.).
